Griot’s Garage G21 Long Throw Orbital 6″ Polisher
Engineered with the goal of professional-level paint correction in mind, the Griot’s Garage Long Throw G21 Polisher offers a potent combination of power, pad rotation and precision. This impressive tool marries Griot’s robust 1,100-watt “big block” motor with a 6″ backing plate and a massive 21mm throw pattern. In comparison to the smaller Griot’s Garage G9 Polisher, the G21 retains the same ergonomic design but boasts a 20% larger housing, a 22% power boost and a maximum speed of 4,500 orbits per minute. Exclusive to G21 (and G15) models, the innovative fan-integrated backing plate and billet counter balancer are engineered to mitigate vibration – especially when using heavier microfiber buffing pads (versus foam).
Note: When converted to a 5″ backing plate and fitted with a BOSS Microfiber Fast Cutting Pad, the G21 is Griot’s most aggressive paint correcting combination. It should be noted that long-throw polishers are not ideally suited for application of waxes and sealants. The extended throw tends to cure the wax unevenly (with the exception of Griot’s BOSS Finishing Sealant – which is designed to comply with the heat cycling of long-throw orbits). The G8 or G9 Polare most suitable for wax application.
